The transcript of the James Ray’s call with his participants would not have raised any eye brows had there not been two deaths and 19 injuries at his event. It’s a typical “new thought” conversation that many people teach and practice in their lives daily.
People pay $1000s of dollars for books, tapes, seminars and workshops to learn how to have power in their lives. Ultimately their search ends up taking them on a journey into their own heart and their own awareness their individual journey will always be unique to themselves. This has always been known by those that take the time to examine their lives and manage their thinking. A good example is Greg S. Reid’s new book Three Feet From Gold. I haven’t read Greg’s book but I am familiar with Napoleon Hill’s story. Everything we seek exists within our reach, if we are mindful enough to look and conscious enough to see.
A few weeks ago I saw the Dalia Lama in Long Beach, CA. Here is a man that seems to practice what he preaches and walks his talk. He was asked a question about when practicing non-violence and honoring all life, what do you do when someone does something to harm you? The Dalia Lama’s answer was beautiful and had me see something that has alluded me in my own spiritual practice. Dalia Lama said that when someone harms you that there is the “actor” and the “act”. In a Buddhist practice, have compassion and empathy for the “actor” or the person that has harmed your or done you wrong. Regarding the “act” that harm you, take appropriate steps to protect yourself and prevent more harm being done. (I have paraphrased the Dalai Lama’s teaching this according to my understanding).
When I look at two people dead in a program where James Arthur Ray was in charge. A program that he designed and authored “Spiritual Warrior” and at least one time in the past people where rendered unconscious during the exercise. James did not choose to learn from the past and continued until he killed someone, in fact 2 people and injured many others some of them permanently.
As a Spiritualist and Clairvoyant, I disagree with person on the transcript of the James Ray conference call that said the people that died simple were having too much fun on the other side and decided to stay there. It’s funny to hear what people make up to make themselves feel better. What’s more likely to have happened is that the 2 people that crossed over realized that their bodies were rendered useless to complete what they came here to do this life time (yes, like the Dalai Lama I believe in reincarnation).
For me, I have compassion for James Arthur Ray the man. He’s here learning what he came to learn and if he doesn’t get it, he’ll keep coming back until he does get it. As for the actions of James Arthur Ray – “Death Ray” well, his actions killed 2 people and harmed many others. He has harmed people at the same event before and didn’t learn from it. More importantly, he has not taken responsibility for his actions which makes every word that he speaks suspect of his intentions and motives which appear to be to cover his ass, blame others and avoid responsibility for his actions. To me that proves that he is human like the rest of us, but the rest of us don’t claim to change peoples lives in 5 days for $10,000 plus room and board…
